There’s still nothing like sinking your feet into good carpet on a cool Adelaide morning. We’ve been laying it in local homes for years, and what we carry runs from proper wool right through to tough solution-dyed nylon that shrugs off a busy household. Photos never quite do carpet justice, so the best thing you can do is come and feel a few at our Gepps Cross showroom.
Start with the fibre, not the colour
It’s tempting to choose on looks alone, but the fibre is what really decides how your carpet lives and wears:
- Wool, naturally soft and springy, and it ages with grace. The quiet luxury option.
- Solution-dyed nylon, the workhorse: fade- and stain-resistant, and built for family life.
- Polyester & triexta, soft underfoot, kind on the wallet and good with spills.
- Polypropylene, the value pick for bedrooms and quieter rooms.
If you want the plain-English version, our Carpet Buying Guide lays it all out.

Plush, twist or loop?
Each pile has its own character. Plush is smooth and a touch formal, lovely in a lounge or master bedroom. Twist is the easygoing all-rounder that hides footprints and bounces back in high-traffic areas. Loop pile adds texture and a clean, modern edge.
A quick word on colour
Mid-tones earn their keep, soft greys, warm taupes and gentle browns hide everyday marks through living rooms, hallways and stairs. Go darker and calmer in bedrooms for a restful feel, and keep it lighter in smaller rooms to hold onto that sense of space. And in the kids’ rooms? A flecked carpet is your best mate.

Don’t skip the underlay
Underlay does the quiet work, extra cushioning, warmth underfoot and a bit of hush between rooms, and it genuinely helps your carpet last. We handle the lot when we install, underlay included, so the only thing left for you to do is enjoy how it feels.
Come and have a feel
The right carpet is really about how you live, not just colour and texture, so let’s talk it through. Book a free measure and quote and we’ll bring the samples to you. Doing the whole house? We also do timber, laminate, hybrid, vinyl and blinds under the one roof.
